Acura has officially made history—securing a long-awaited victory at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach during a milestone year for the brand.

Celebrating its 40th anniversary, Acura delivered an unforgettable performance at its home race in Long Beach, California. The win marks the brand’s first triumph at this prestigious event since returning to prototype racing in 2018.

A Dominant Performance from Start to Finish

Driving the #93 Acura ARX-06, the duo of Nick Yelloly and Renger van der Zande delivered a commanding performance.

After starting from pole position, Yelloly led the majority of his stint before handing off to van der Zande, who brought the car home to victory. Together, the pair led 53 of the 70 laps in the intense 100-minute race, showcasing both speed and precision on the tight street circuit.

This victory also marks Acura’s first win of the 2026 season in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Overcoming Challenges on the Track

While the #93 car dominated, the sister #60 Acura ARX-06 faced early adversity after starting from the back of the grid due to a prior incident. Drivers Tom Blomqvist and Colin Braun navigated the challenging street course and avoided multiple incidents to finish a respectable seventh.

A Special Win for Acura’s 40th Anniversary

This victory carries extra significance as it comes during Acura’s 40th anniversary celebration. Winning at their home race in Long Beach makes the achievement even more meaningful for the entire team.

David Salters, President of Honda Racing Corporation USA, called it an “incredible day” for Acura, highlighting the dedication and teamwork that made the win possible.

What’s Next?

The momentum continues as Acura heads to the next stop in California—the Monterey Sports Car Championship at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, taking place May 1–3.

With confidence high and a major win under their belt, Acura looks to carry this success forward in the 2026 season.
